Public Web Site Privacy Statement

This Public Web Site Privacy Statement explains the Health New England, Inc. (HNE), policy about the collection and use of information on HNE public Web sites. The  HNE Notice of Privacy Practices describes how HNE uses and discloses protected health information and how members can get access to this information. HNE is committed to protecting our members’ privacy at all times and in all settings.

"Public" describes sites that do not require a password to access information. "Secure" describes sites that do require a password to log in before accessing information.

Personally Identifiable Information:
This means any information that can reasonably be used to identify a person, such as a name, address, email address, Social Security number, or telephone number.

Links to Other Sites:
Our Web site has some links to external sites. When you click on one of these links, you leave the HNE Web site. These sites may have different privacy policies than HNE. Be sure to read those privacy policies once you leave our public Web sites. HNE is not responsible for sites it does not own or control.

Usage of our Secure Web Sites:
When you submit personally identifiable information through our secure Web forms, it is protected from unauthorized access, both physically and electronically. We conduct periodic reviews of our Web site security to ensure that our electronic safeguards remain effective. Sending personal information through email, however, is not secure. Sending EMail:
This site collects information from you only through emails that you voluntarily send through this site. Emails that you send to this site contain personally identifiable information. (For example, they contain your email address.) Any information that you may provide to HNE via email will be used by HNE solely to follow-up on questions that you ask us or to address issues that you mention in your email. Remember that non-encrypted email messages can be viewed by other Internet users while in transit.
