Nancy is best known for her "Food for Thought" nutrition news segments that have aired on NBC's WWLP News since 1984. As a spokesperson for Guiltless Gourmet Tortilla Chips and Yoplait Yogurt, she has appeared on the TV Food Network. She opened her private practice in 1991 and, thanks to satisfied clients and their doctors, the business continues to grow. She currently has three offices with several dietitians and diabetic educators on staff. She attributes her success to the fact that she believes patients should not "diet." We can love the food we eat as we improve our health.
Nancy’s passion for nutrition and her skill in applying it has spurred celebrities from famous athletes to celebrity chefs to work with her. She and Olympic Gold Medalist Florence Griffith-Joyner worked together doing “desk side interviews” with popular magazine editors about the latest findings in nutrition and fitness. Nancy’s nutrition expertise has been quoted in many magazines including Bride Magazine, Martha Stewart Whole Living, Elle and Glamour. Basketball star Rebecca Lobo and Nancy worked together as part of an article on sports nutrition for the first edition of Sports Illustrated for Women. Nancy was one of 10 dietitians invited by Julia Child to a private cooking class to learn how to blend taste and nutrition.
Many corporations, including MassMutual and Yankee Candle, have contracted with Nancy to train employees to improve eating habits. The first year that the Massachusetts Department of Public Health awarded the "Excellence in Nutrition Education Award," Nancy was an honored recipient.
Nancy received her Bachelor's degree in biology from Westfield State College and her Master's degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Massachusetts. She enjoys Jazzercise, gardening, photography, cooking, karaoke (only in the privacy of her own home) and entertaining family and friends.
