Releasing Tension and Stress Through Movement

Moving your body is an effective way to improve your overall health and reduce stress. This slow, full-body practice will include grounding, warming and meditative postures to ease tension, calm the mind and increase a sense of well-being.

Please come wearing comfortable clothes you can move in, as this will be a part lecture, part seated and standing class. All levels are welcome!

In this workshop you’ll learn:

• The importance of physical movement, especially for stress reduction
• Types of physical activities to destress and reduce overwhelm (without needing a lot of time)
• Spine movements and joint rotations to warm and ground the body that you can do on a daily basis
• Seated and standing movements to practice anytime in order to feel more balanced and grounded

Michele K. Lyman helps people living with anxiety find the confidence they need to live the life they deserve and achieve goals they never thought possible. A yoga teacher with 20 years’ experience, she uses a unique combination of mindfulness and yoga techniques to help people manage anxiety.

She currently offers corporate wellness programs designed to help employers inspire and support their teams through challenging and stressful times using mindfulness techniques. As someone who spent 18 years in corporate America, she can relate to the level of stress employees face each day and teach them how to build the resilience and confidence they need in order to thrive through uncertainty and change. She also offers individualized coaching and online programming designed to teach people that they can transform their relationship with their anxiety through mindfulness so they can feel better to be better - at home, at work and in your relationships.

Through a mix of understanding her own struggles with anxiety, clear communication, actionable strategies and encouragement, she whole-heartedly supports her students’ inner transformation and cheers them on along the way. Michele is the owner and founder of Serenity Yoga in South Hadley, MA.
